How’s it going fellas,

So a few days ago I got a message from a young athlete that wanted my advice on what it really takes for someone to become an elite level athlete.

See, growing up wanting to play in the NFL I’ve thought long and hard about this question.

After putting aside all the things I had no control over, I was left with one thing.

Consistent Effort

Think about it.

When you brush away all your excuses and break down what it takes all athletes to become great it comes down to 2 things:  Consistency and Effort.

Consistency is when you show up.  If you’re tired, you show up.  When you’re sick, you show up.  When you’re girlfriend broke it off with you, show up.  It doesn’t matter what the situation is consistency towards the mapped out goal you have will accumulate to great things I don’t care who you are you will eventually get to that goal with consistency.

Effort is your choice when you show up.  I really love Ray Lewis, the best LB to play the game because all he does is preach effort and when it comes down to it you are 100% in control of the effort you give day in and day out.

Think about that…

Effort is the only one thing you can control once you show up.  I can’t control anything or anyone else but the effort I can exert into my training or performance each day.

When you pair these 2 together you get the formula for an Ultimate Athlete.

Show up consistently and give the most effort and I promise you that you will reach the goals you want.

Holler at you next time,
